Tuning

Getting your piano tuned regularly is the single best way that a piano owner can care for their instrument. With every tuning we provide, we include a brief evaluation of the instrument and can help let you know what to expect with the piano moving forward.  A tuning appointment is also a great way to figure out what (if any) repairs might be necessary to increase the lifespan of the piano.

Regulation

If your instrument is starting to show it’s age, it may be time to make some adjustments inside the piano.  With thousands of moving parts made of wood, felt and other organic material, even slight differences can cause keys to feel sluggish, notes to continue ringing after they’ve been played, or double hitting of the strings with each keystroke.  With multiple adjustments possible for each key, we can get your piano playing much more efficiently and have it be much more enjoyable to sit down with. 

Repairs/Rebuilds

Depending on the age of the piano, it’s possible that there are some parts that have broken and need to be replaced completely.  With every tuning, we take a comprehensive look at the piano to see if there are any parts that have failed. Replacing a broken hammer or repetition is often something we can do on the initial visit in the home.  If many parts have begun to fail and the piano is one that is worth keeping, a rebuild may be in order. This could include replacing the action parts, the hammers, the strings, and/or the dampers. We have many years of experience in the shop and in the field with hundreds of different makes and models of piano and are confident we can get your instrument singing again.
